Continuous Improvement Manager – Mt. Olive, NC Monroe Staffing is a division of Staffing 360 Solutions. We are a leading staffing firm in the U.S. in the light industrial sector. We currently have an opening for a Continuous Improvement Manager for a local food processing company located in Mt Olive, NC. The ideal candidate must have a 4-year technical degree. 5+ years of Lean Manufacturing experience. Six Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt certification is greatly preferred. 7+ years of experience in high-volume process-based manufacturing, and food experience is a big plus. Must have demonstrated success in project management. Must have strong proficiency in Microsoft 365 business software. Excellent written and verbal communication skills are required. Well-honed interpersonal skills with strong team-working ability are required. The ability to teach manufacturing and technical concepts. Ability to speak, read, and write Spanish is a plus. Location: Mt Olive, NCSalary: $95,000 – $112,000/yearly + Full benefits package Responsibilities of the Continuous Improvement Manager: The Continuous Improvement Manager is responsible for applying process improvement principles, methodologies, and techniques such as Lean Manufacturing, Lean Management, and Six Sigma. Prepare and conduct process improvement initiatives aimed at improving manufacturing processes, reducing losses, eliminating waste, and reducing costs. Use Six Sigma and DOE (Design of Experiment) techniques to study manufacturing processes to identify losses and develop plans to reduce losses. Develop and maintain a factory value stream map. Develop a model for following up on projects to monitor the progress of improvement initiatives to ensure timely action, appropriate management support, and achievement of expected benefits. Track and report savings resulting from improvements. Champion the culture of Lean using tools and data-driven decisions. Daily interaction with employees, maintenance, and leadership team in understanding plant focus and barriers to performance. Reviews the current state of manufacturing, researches and proposes improvements to the manufacturing process, provides ROI/IRR (return on investment/internal rate of return) cost justification on proposed improvements, manages implementation of improvements, and conducts reviews of completed improvements. Develop and execute process improvement projects and other capital and non-capital projects as directed. Define and document issues, project objectives, strategies, deliverables, and risk/mitigations to ensure project success. Lead and Develop Training Program for Operators, Operator/Mechanics, and Maintenance Technicians. Review training documentation, evaluate personnel, develop training plans for personnel, coordinate refresher training, execute and facilitate technical and operations training, and maintain training records. Plan, organize, and prioritize work assignments and complete them accurately and on-time, while adapting to changing priorities, dealing with ambiguity, and navigating high-urgency environments. Communicate (verbally and in writing) with all members of the team consistently. Elimination of reoccurring downtime through engineering changes and improvements. Lead implementation of process changes and installation of any new equipment.Review new and modified specifications for proper content, and control timely introduction of the same into the manufacturing system. Review, update, and maintain Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs). Assist management in determining the best utilization of equipment, facilities, material flow, and personnel. Assist production and maintenance with troubleshooting and RCA (root cause analysis) on issues affecting production. Work with maintenance and CMMS (computerized maintenance management system) to implement improvements. Collaborate with Quality Control and manufacturing personnel to ensure that process and equipment produce a product that meets or exceeds Quality Control and Engineering standards. Identify and document best practices. Flows best practices throughout the facility. Maintain appropriate computerized and paper files on pertinent information. Coordinates with other departments to ensure cooperation and timely completion of projects. Communicate and cooperate with other members of management to maintain productive and harmonious working relationships. Participate in training, employee meetings, committees, and project teams, as needed. Requirements for the Continuous Improvement Manager:
Requires a 4-year technical degree.
5+ years of Lean Manufacturing experience.
Six Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt certification is greatly preferred.
