We are a leading staffing firm in the U.S. in the light industrial sector.We have an immediate full-time opening for a PLC Progra well-known food processing plant in Mount Olive, NC. Location: Mount Olive, NC (May travel to Goldsboro plant as needed)Days:Monday – Friday (Some weekends based on needs)Hours:6:00 AM – 3:00 PMSalary: Up to $33.00 per hour, OR commensurate with experience. Requirements for the PLC Programmer:
Technical Associate’s degree or 5+ years of experience troubleshooting HMI/PLC control systems and evaluating/modifying programming and devices.
Exceptional troubleshooting skills are required for this position.
Allen Bradley PLCs, Logix 5000, Studio 5000
Ignition software
Automatic Control Systems
Closed Loop Systems
Input/Output modules.
Controller feedback and configuration
Loop tuning analysis
Knowledge of continuity, current, voltage, and resistance.
3-phase electrical
Proficiency in reading blueprints, electrical schematics, and P&IDs (piping and instrumentation diagrams)
Digital systems within process environments
Maintain As-Built documentation for instrument basic measurements.
Ability to work with minimal instruction.
Responsibilities of the PLC Programmer: The Automation Controls Technician will perform typical to advanced programming, troubleshooting, calibration, and optimization on electrical, mechanical, and pneumatic systems. The skill level for this position requires an individual to work independently on complicated equipment and systems with minimal instruction and direction.Meets regularly with the Superintendent to discuss problems, opportunities, schedules, and safety conditions.Reviews departmental reports for accuracy, completeness, and promptness.
Position reports to the Automation Engineering Manager with the opportunity to collaborate closely with Engineers in the development and implementation of new systems and upgrades.
Aide in improved troubleshooting and error response of plant equipment.
Modify process systems to improve efficiency, alarms, and traceability.
Install, calibrate, and troubleshoot the following: transmitters, sensors, meters, valves, process systems, and new/adopted technology.
Provide electrical and instrumentation support to ensure safe and effective production.
Develop and generate proper documentation for all facets of work duties.
Maintain computerized and paper files on relevant information.
Maintain areas of operation in a safe and sanitary manner.
Ensure that safety rules and company policies are followed.
Instrumentation Calibration – Level 2 Technician
Configure and calibrate transmitters, controllers, valves, positioners, sensors, and meters.
Calibrate pH meter, conductivity meter, and Brix refractometer.
Programmable Logic, Distributed Control Systems (DCS), and Digital Measurement – Level 3 Technician
Serial and parallel transfer for the measurement of control instrumentation.
Fieldbus Process Control Systems – Level 4 Technician
SCADA (Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition)
Multidrop communication systems
Facility-focused process controls
Other Duties
Occasionally drives own or company vehicle in performance of some job duties.
May travel to Goldsboro plant as needed.
Participates in training, employee meetings, committees, and project teams as needed.
Physical Demands of the PLC Programmer:
Walking: Moving about on foot to complete job tasks, sometimes for long distances, or moving from one work site to another.
Light Work: Exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 10 pounds of force frequently, and/or a negligible amount of force frequently to move objects.
Work Environment of the PLC Programmer:
Office, plant, and shop conditions.
Occasional or lengthy exposure to outside conditions.
Long workdays and workweeks may be required.
Plant may be subject to some seasonal temperature variations.
Earplugs and hearing protection are required on the production floor because of machinery noise.
Hairnet and beard net may be required in certain production floor areas.
