Maintenance Mechanic- First Shift Ayer MA Monroe Staffing is a division of Staffing 360 Solutions. We are a leading staffing firm in the U.S. in the light industrial sector. We are currently searching for Maintenance Mechanics. This direct-hire position is with a well-respected national beverage bottling distribution company in Ayer MA.The ideal candidate is required to have 3-5 years of maintenance mechanic experience in fast fast-paced manufacturing environment. Must have at least 3 years of Programable logic h PLC, Pneumatic, Hydraulic machine repair best practices as well as knowledge of maintenance terminology, GMP, OSHA, FIFO, SPL, and PM. Location: Ayer, MAShift:Rate: 1st shift 8 hours and weekends as needed$25.00-$30+/hr.Other Compensation: Complete benefits package Summary of a Maintenance Mechanic This position will support the maintenance team in repairing and troubleshooting production lines' high-speed packaging equipment. Additionally, the job will entail completing preventive maintenance tasks per planned schedules. Responsibilities of a Maintenance Mechanic
Clean and lubricate equipment. Inspect equipment operating conditions and identify the root cause of equipment. Understand PLC systems with the ability to troubleshoot electrical components and wiring diagrams. Disassemble and reassemble equipment such as gearboxes, cylinders, pumps, valves, etc., and repair and replace worn-out parts.
Ensures operation of machinery and mechanical equipment by completing preventive maintenance requirements on engines, motors, pneumatic tools, conveyor systems, and production machines; following diagrams, sketches, operations manuals, manufacturer's instructions, and engineering specifications; troubleshooting malfunctions.
Locates sources of problems by observing mechanical devices in operation; listening for problems; and using precision measuring and testing instruments.
Removes defective parts by dismantling devices; using hoists, cranes, and hand and power tools; examining form and texture of parts.
Determines changes in dimensional requirements of parts by inspecting used parts, using rules, calipers, micrometers, and other measuring instruments.
Adjusts functional parts of devices and control instruments by using hand tools, levels, plumb bobs, and straightedges.
Controlling, reducing, or eliminating downtime by informing production workers of routine preventive maintenance techniques; and monitoring compliance.
Fabricates repair parts by using machine shop instrumentation and equipment.
Maintains equipment, parts, and supplies inventories by checking stock to determine inventory level; anticipating needed equipment, parts, and supplies; placing and expediting orders; verifying receipt.
Qualifications for a Maintenance Mechanic
High School Diploma or GED
Technical Education is a plus
3-5 years of maintenance mechanic experience.
Maintenance mechanic experience in a fast-paced manufacturing environment is preferred
Maintenance mechanic experience in a food manufacturing environment is a plus
knowledge of maintenance terminology, GMP, OSHA, FIFO, SPL, and PM
Must possess excellent interpersonal and communication skills, be highly motivated and responsible, and work well within a team environment.
Ability to work in a fast-paced, challenging, and consistently changing environment
Ability to think independently, as well as consistently collaborate and communicate with management.
Physical Demands of a Maintenance Mechanic
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand and lift. The employee must stand and walk at least 70% of the time.
The employee must be able to work 8-hour shifts.
Lift fifty (50) pounds.
Squat or kneel and bend frequently.
Work in a cold and hot environment.
Climb steps frequently
Use an elevated platform/lift to reach raised work areas or equipment failures
