Furnace Operator/Set-Up Technician 2nd Shift – Goffstown, NH Monroe Staffing is a division of Staffing 360 Solutions. We are a leading staffing agency in the U.S. in the light industrial sector. We have an immediate opening for a Furnace Operator/Set-Up Technician (2nd Shift) for a local brazing, welding, and metal heat-treatment plant in Goffstown, NH. Location: Goffstown, NHPay Rate: $19.00–$20.00 per hour (commensurate with experience)Days: Monday – FridayHours: 3:00 PM – 11:30 PM (2nd Shift) Summary of Furnace Operator/Set-Up Technician: The Furnace Operator/Set-Up Technician ensures the vacuum furnace and related furnace equipment is set up and working properly to produce the necessary parts conforming to quality, quantity, and efficiency standards. Requirements for Furnace Operator/Set-Up Technician:
At least one year of experience with brazing furnaces, vacuum furnaces, welding, soldering, or metal heat-treating machines and equipment is strongly preferred.
Experience operating machines in a manufacturing setting and working with metal parts such as stainless steel, aluminum, nickel, high carbon steel, or other metals is strongly preferred.
Knowledge of basic maintenance activities for brazing furnaces is preferred.
Knowledge of working with metals such as stainless steel, aluminum, steel, nickel, and copper is a big plus.
Basic understanding of how to make minor mechanical adjustments while operating equipment.
Basic understanding of metal heat treatment processes and procedures.
Knowledge of basic maintenance procedures and repair activities.
Familiarity with the operation of cranes, forklifts, and power tools is a plus.
Understand customer specifications and drawings.
Ability to operate a computer.
High school diploma/GED or equivalent supplemented by one year experience in furnace or heat-treating operations.
Job Duties of Furnace Operator/Set-Up Technician:
Set up and break down vacuum furnaces. Load furnaces with parts and equipment.
Apply filler metals, stop off compounds, and brazing fluxes according to process sheet specifications.
Work with furnace machinery and perform basic maintenance and repairs on equipment.
Operate related equipment, such as forklifts, and power tools when needed.
Inspect parts for incoming inspections, counting, and compliance with job specifications.
Set-Up Technician cleans parts.
Furnace Operator ensures lots are always kept separate.
Complete job paperwork following proper procedure.
Package parts for shipping.
Maintain accurate logs and monitor equipment to ensure equipment is producing the proper output.
Furnace Operator/Set-Up Technician must wear the following PPE (personal protective equipment):
Steel-toe Boots
Safety Glasses
Gloves
Safety Vest
Perform duties safely, responsibly, and proficiently, while observing and complying with all safety rules (OSHA and SDS Standards), including safe equipment operation.
Exercise care and safety while operating equipment and tools used to complete jobs.
Work Environment & Physical Demands of Set-Up Technician:
The facility environment can be dusty and get very hot when furnaces are in operation.
Constant lifting, pushing, occasionally lifting to 50 pounds, and repeatedly lifting to 25 pounds.
Prolonged standing, walking, gripping, or feeling with hands, reaching with hands and arms, climbing, stooping, or crouching.
