We have a direct placement opening for a Chemical Engineer for a large refrigerant management service. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in chemical engineering with specific expertise in distillation processes. As a Distillation Process /Production Engineer, you will be responsible for optimizing and improving our distillation operations to ensure efficiency, quality, and safety. Location: Bridgeton NJShift:Monday-Friday, 8 hours a day, 1st shift 8:00 am- 5:00 pmSalary: $90,000-$120,000 Annually Key Responsibilities of a Chemical Engineer:
Optimize distillation processes to improve efficiency, throughput, and product quality.
Develop and implement process improvements to reduce energy consumption, waste generation, and environmental impact.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams including operations, maintenance, and reclaim to implement process improvements and troubleshoot issues.
Provide technical support and guidance to operations personnel to ensure the safe and efficient operation of distillation equipment.
Perform process troubleshooting and root cause analysis to identify and resolve operational issues, and material balances.
Develop and maintain standard operating procedures (SOPs), work instructions, and training materials for distillation processes.
Participate in process hazard analyses (PHA) and management of change (MOC) processes to ensure compliance with safety regulations and industry standards.
Review & develop PFD, P&ID.
Stay current with industry trends, technologies, and best practices related to distillation processes.
Support new product development initiatives by providing expertise on distillation processes.
Qualifications of a Chemical Engineer:
Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering with 8 years to 10 years of experience. Master's degree with 5 years of experience is preferred.
Minimum of 3 years of experience in process/Production engineering with a focus on distillation and associated unit operation processes.
Knowledge of process simulation software, lean, and Six Sigma desirable.
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to troubleshoot complex process issues.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
Demonstrated commitment to safety, environmental stewardship, and regulatory compliance.
