CNC Maintenance Technician – Houston, TX (Westfield/Spring Area)  Monroe Staffing is a division of Staffing 360 Solutions.   We are a leading staffing firm in the U.S. in the light industrial sector.  Monroe Staffing is currently hiring an expert-level CNC Maintenance Technician.   This is a direct-hire position with our client, a multinational manufacturer of industrial steel tubes and pipes for oil and gas drilling equipment.    Location:  Houston, TX – (Westfield/Spring Area)Days:Monday – Friday (50-60 hours per week)Hours:1st Shift:  7:00 AM – 4:00 PM or 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM2nd Shift:  5:00 PM – 1:00 AM (8-hour shifts with overtime if necessary)Salary:  $90,000/yearly base salary + 15% Bonus(Non-exempt position.  Eligible for overtime pay.)Additional Compensation:  Full benefits package includes employee profit sharing plan up to 4%, Performance bonus up to 15%, 401K match 4.5% with no vesting period, comprehensive paid time off, health & wellness benefits, and more.  Summary of the CNC Maintenance Technician:
The CNC Maintenance Technician will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of the CNC machines and mechanical equipment.   Day-to-day responsibilities will include setting up CNC lathes and mills, performing preventive maintenance, and troubleshooting malfunctions to minimize costly downtime.   The CNC Maintenance Technician will be working on a variety of mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems, providing critical support to production operations.  Requirements for the CNC Maintenance Technician:
  • Advanced knowledge and experience with industrial electrical/electronic and mechanical maintenance including motors, VFDs, controls, power supplies, AC/DC theory, power distribution, CNC error codes, PLCs, Ladder Logic troubleshooting, hydraulics/pneumatics, lubrication, oil pressure, and power transmissions.
  • Following safety work procedures such as personal protection equipment, lockout/tag-out, confined spaces, and elevated work areas.
  • This position is active and requires standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching, crawling, and climbing during shift.
  • Technical training, High school, or better.
  Duties of the CNC Maintenance Technician:
  • Full set up of CNC lathes and mills for new operations.
  • Ensures functional operation of CNC machines and mechanical equipment by completing preventive maintenance on machining lathes and mills, motors, variable frequency drives, pneumatic tools, and production equipment; following diagrams, schematics, sketches, operations manuals, manufacturer's instructions, and engineering specifications; troubleshooting malfunctions.
  • Have advanced skills in industrial electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, and hydraulic troubleshooting and repair.
  • Locates root cause of problems by using sound troubleshooting methods to ensure that permanent repairs can be made to minimize costly downtime.
  • Install, service, troubleshoot, and repair all types of CNC machine control components including motor drives, controllers, variable frequency drives, sensors, switches, breakers, overloads, power supplies, power inverters, relays, stepper motors, DC power servomotors, servo-drives, electrical cabinet, etc.
  • Install, service, troubleshoot, and repair all types of CNC power transmission components including drives, bearings, gears, belts, chains, sprockets, variable frequency drives, and other CNC mechanical/electrical components.
  • Install, service, troubleshoot, and repair hydraulic systems including tanks, pumps, valves, piping, cylinders, and controls.
  • Provide proper record keeping, documentation, and information for Machine files and repair files.
  • Comply with safety regulations and maintain clean and orderly work areas.
  • Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, technical parts manuals, electrical and mechanical diagrams, gauges, meters, calipers, and other measuring tools.
  • Use all required hand and power tools including drills, saws, torches, jacks, ladders, cranes, forklifts, as well as other maintenance equipment and tools.
