We have an opportunity for an Apprentice Distillation Operator position at a large refrigerant management service. The candidate must pass the boiler examination within one year of joining the program. Candidates must be able to pass a test to stay in an apprenticeship program. Location: Bridgeton, NJPayrate: $18.00 - $24.00/hr.Shift: 12-hour shift, rotating Summary of an Apprenticeship Distillation Operator: Show a positive attitude to learning rotating machinery such as compressors, pumps, motors, and motor drives and understanding the functioning of pressure, flow, level transmitters, temperature and pressure gauges, control valves, etc. instruments. Understand and be able to trace and set up piping and fittings associated with chemical operations. Learn unit operations associated with the distillation and reclamation process. Learn to operate the control board within a reasonable time and apply unit operations principles in the operating board. Expect to work as a distillation operator after three years of training. Routine tests will be given to qualify to stay in the program. Responsibilities of an Apprenticeship Distillation Operator:
Sample feed, reflux, product, oil, etc. tanks.
Read collect data and log various process parameters such as temperature, pressure, flow, and level.
Maintain a written log of operating performance and adjustments made to unit operations and note the time the adjustment was made.
Maintain unit operations in a safe and environmentally acceptable manner.
Set up line and equipment to transfer products from railcars, product tanks, feed tanks, oil tanks, ISO containers, etc. to appropriate storage locations.
Operate vacuum pumps, vapor and liquid pumps, and compressors using standard operating procedures (SOP) safely with supervision.
Learn operation and maintenance of boiler and chiller equipment using SOP within a reasonable time frame.
Should pass boiler examination within one year of joining the program.
Take and pass a test to stay in an apprenticeship program.
Operate forklift using SOP.
Perform daily and weekly visual inspections of the distillation tanks and the auxiliary systems and issue written reports.
Operate control board to maintain and improve unit operations.
Perform general area housekeeping and exterior work.
Other duties as assigned.

Education of an Apprenticeship Distillation Operator:
High school diploma or general education degree (GED).
CERTIFICATES, LICENSE REGISTRATIONS of an Apprenticeship Distillation Operator:
Must obtain a Black Seal boilers license within one year of beginning as an apprentice.
