Maintenance Supervisor – Mount Olive, NC Monroe Staffing is a division of Staffing 360 Solutions. We are a leading staffing firm in the U.S. in the light industrial sector.We have an immediate direct hire, full-time opening for a Maintenance Supervisor for a well-known food processing plant in Mount Olive, NC. Location: Mount Olive, NCDays:Monday – Friday (Some weekends. Eligible for weekend pay.)Hours:3rd Shift: 10:00 PM—7:00 AM (Flexible; it could be a longer shift depending on need.)Salary: $70,000/yearly base salary Plus, full benefits package. Requirements for the Maintenance Supervisor:
Technical or specialized training or education in mechanical maintenance is required, equal to 2 years of college or technical school.
Must have good written and verbal communication skills.
Five to seven years of experience in mechanical processes and tools and good working knowledge of production processes and equipment.
Working knowledge of applicable laws, rules, and regulations (federal, state, EEOC, ESC, FDA, EPA, OSHA, etc.). Knowledge of personal computers and related software is needed. Must speak, read, and write in English.
Must demonstrate aptitude to manage people, set an example by own conduct and work habits, make prompt and competent decisions, use authority wisely, and maintain discipline, morale, and teamwork at a high standard.
Responsibilities of the Maintenance Supervisor:
Oversees and directs installation, maintenance, and repair of production and other mechanical equipment on one shift.
Assists employees with complex equipment problems or major equipment failures, repairs, or overhauls.
Follow up and ensure all work is completed on time and accurately.
Makes sure any mechanical shutdown situation is handled as quickly & correctly as possible, using established DIN procedures.
Directs preventive maintenance to be performed regularly.
Works closely with supervisors in production departments to help solve problems & make needed equipment improvements.
Maintains appropriate computerized and paper files on pertinent information.
Maintains areas of operation in a safe and sanitary manner. Makes effective use of and makes recommendations on physical assets. Determines that established safety rules, Company policy and good housekeeping are followed.
Other Duties
May occasionally perform some duties of Stockroom Attendant in the absence of same.
Coordinates with other departments to ensure cooperation and timely completion of projects. Communicates and cooperates with other members of management to maintain productive and harmonious working relationships.
May operate the forklift in some job duties.
Occasionally drives own or company vehicle in performance of some job duties.
Ensures proper selection, training, evaluation, and discipline of and communication with employees.
Participates in training, employee meetings, committees, project teams, etc. as appropriate.
Receives written and verbal instructions on the above job tasks and performs other duties as directed by the Supervisor.
Machines, Equipment, Tools Used by the Manufacturing Project Engineer:
Personal computer and standard office equipment.
Own or company vehicle.
Physical Demands of the Maintenance Supervisor:
Climbing: Ascending or descending ladders, stairs, scaffolding, ramps, poles and the like, using feet and legs and/or hands and arms.
Body agility is emphasized. This factor is important if the amount and kind of climbing required exceeds that required for ordinary locomotion.
Standing: Particularly for sustained periods.
Walking: Moving about on foot to accomplish tasks, particularly for long distances or moving from one work site to another.
Fingering: Picking, pinching, typing or otherwise working, primarily with fingers rather than with the whole hand or arm as in handling.
Reaching: Extending hand(s) and arm(s) in any direction.
Grasping: Applying pressure to an object with the fingers and palm.
Talking: Expressing or exchanging ideas using the spoken word. Those activities in which they must convey detailed or important spoken instructions to other workers accurately, loudly, or quickly.
Hearing: Perceiving the nature of sounds at a normal speaking level with or without correction. Ability to receive detailed information through oral communication, and to make fine discriminations in sound.
Light Work: Exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally, or up to 10 pounds of force frequently.
The worker is required to have close visual acuity to perform an activity such as: preparing and analyzing data and figures: transcribing; viewing a computer terminal; extensive reading; visual inspection involving small defects, small parts, and/or operation of machines (including inspection); using measurement devices; and/or assembly or fabrication of parts at distances close to the eyes.
